When the judges finished combing through the nearly 1,000 submissions to Sailing World’s inaugural photo contest, the winner was clear. “Epic,” which SW community member Charles Scott shot during Thursday-night races on Michigan’s Lake St. Clair, displayed an impressive combination of dramatic lighting, thoughtful composition, and a unique angle.
For winning, Scott will receive a pair of 7×30 Navigator Pro binoculars by Steiner Binoculars. Thanks to everyone who submitted photos. The judges were editor Dave Reed, senior editor Stuart Streuli, associate editor Michael Lovett, and associate art director Dave Norton.
