A brief look at the college sailing venues of New England.
Rochester YC (N.Y.) hosted 96 J/24s for the 2012 World Championship on Lake Ontario this September. We caught up with a handful of students to find out what they’re doing during these sunny months, ensuring that at least a few memories of Summer 2012 will outlast Orientation Week. **
I have personally sported the Aigle Maramu Lace Up Boot since my freshman year of college. Now, dark rumors that the line has been discontinued have combined with “sold out” availabilities in my size everywhere I look online to create a perfect storm of terror. With my own boots desperately in need of replacement, I’m almost willing to ship myself to France to find a new pair.
The 2012 Mass Bay Junior Olympic Festival that took place at Annisquam Yacht Club was accompanied by sunshine and light air on Monday, giving way to more breeze on Tuesday. Thomas Walden and William Hundahl from Pleon won first in the C420 fleet of 50 boats, while Nicholas Mehlman and Antonia Rerisi of MSA took home first in C420 Green. Zoe Ting of Sandy Bay YC brought home first in Optimist Green, and Emma Rose Safford, also of Sandy Bay, won in the Optimist White fleet. Jed Bell of Hingham YC
