The 34th America’s Cup Defense will air on NBC Saturday (9/7/13) and Sunday (9/8/13) at 4 p.m. Eastern time (1 p.m. PT).
Both men are confident in their teams and their platforms. One is polished, the other shaken. One is lean, the other is flush with spares. The America’s Cup Best of 17 starts Saturday, Sept. 7., and here’s what the lead men have to say from the opening press conference.
The cards are stacked in Oracle’s Team USA’s favor, but the New Zealanders are polished. Oracle, however, starts two down, making it a long hard series.
Luna Rossa’s Italian skipper Max Sirena has no care for the 34th Cup Defender’s Russell Coutts. He says he’ll be happy to see Oracle Team USA fall from power. A friendly competition between nations it is not.
