_From an International Finn Association press release:
_”In the lead up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Finn class in Brazil is undergoing something of a resurgence. It’s recent National Championship, held in Sao Paulo, attracted 25 boats, and many of them were new boats built in Brazil. The 2012 Olympian Jorge Zarf dominated the series with six race wins from seven races. Second was the double Olympic Star medalist Bruno Prada on his return to the Finn class. Andre Mirsky was third. We were fortunate to have Michelle Makmann and Jeff Hymes, from the Bonnier Corp. video department, on site for all three days of the St. Petersburg NOOD Regatta. Here’s a compilation of their efforts.
His boat’s age—35 years—was nothing but a number as Robby Brown dominated the J/24 class at the 2013 Sperry Top-Sider St. Petersburg NOOD Regatta and earned overall honors for the first event of the 2013 NOOD Regatta Series
Chilly and windy on Tampa Bay for Day 3 of the St. Petersburg NOOD Regatta. Robby Brown on the J/24 USA 799 was the overall winner. Photos by Allen and Daniela Clark of Photoboat.com. For a full gallery of photos from the regatta, click here.
A rapidly building northwesterly breeze got the attention of all 100 boats sailing in the 2013 St. Pete NOOD. While Day 1 of the regatta was about getting the most out of a minimum breeze, Day 2 was all about making sure the breeze didn’t get the best of you. Another great collection of photos (with many more on their site) from Allen and Daniela Clark of **Photoboat.com**.
The final day of the St. Pete NOOD dawned quite chilly. But there were trophies to be won, so sailors put on whatever warm gear they could find and went at it to wrap up three days of great wind and very competitive racing.
