The AC45 is a lean, mean, speed machine. Held down by a crew of five, this 44-foot long catamaran can cruise at speeds of over 30 knots in the right conditions. Designed by the defending team ORACLE Racing, the AC45 has already helped to make sailing a more visual and exciting spectator sport–plus, these boats can each fit into a 40-foot container!
Can Coutts win? Will Hutchinson’s local knowledge lead him to the top of the fleet racing podium for the first time? Sailing World‘s Fantasy Sailing League will let you showcase your knowledge of the America’s Cup World Series and win some cool prizes.
Think you know sailboat racing? The AC45 brings a whole new boatload of excitement, danger, and thrill to the sport, making it more visual and entrancing than ever before. Capable of speeds of up to 30 knots, the catamarans must still remain nimble enough to maneuver successfully on the tight racecourses.
