The US Sailing Team is now the US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider. Sperry Top-Sider announced today its title sponsorship of the team, which will run through December 31, 2016. In the press release from US Sailing, Dean Brenner, Chairman of US Sailing’s Olympic Sailing Committee states, “We’ve had a close, successful relationship with Sperry for a long time, but this represents a whole new level of their commitment and our partnership.”
Craig Reingold, President of Sperry Top-Sider, stated, “With 2012 being an Olympic year, we have an opportunity to support these world-class athletes in a milestone event of their sailing careers — their pursuit of Olympic gold.”
The US Sailing Team, which is made up of top sailors in 10 Olympic and three paralympic classes, will feature the team’s new emblem incorporating Sperry Top-Sider’s logo. This logo will be unveiled in Weymouth, England, at the Sail for Gold Regatta in June. Sperry Top-Sider will also continue to be the exclusive footwear sponsor for the team, in addition to supplying apparel, eyewear, accessories, and luggage beginning in January 2013.
