Less than a minute into their race Wednesday, Stars & Stripes were doomed. A tack right before the committee boat at the start by USA-77, and a pin end start by OneWorld, with pace, allowed the Seattle team to tack and cross Team Dennis Conner almost immediately after the start.
A remarkably similar scenario was played out ten minutes later during the Prada/Victory match, with Victory being the slow boat at the RC end of the line.
While both Stars & Stripes and the Swedes came close to threatening their opponents, neither were able to pass, and OneWorld and Prada now stand at 2-0, only two wins away from eliminating their opposition.
