The scheduled start of the final leg of the Velux 5 Oceans was postponed on Sunday by noreaster storm that has been tormenting the United States’ East Coast. The low pressure system could linger in the Norfolk, Va. starting area until Tuesday. Race organizers and the skippers will continue to meet every 12 hours with weather experts to assess the situation.Of the seven skippers who started the race, the four remaining are Bernard Stamm, who has all but clinched victory with an enormous lead, Kojiro Shiraishi, currently in second, and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and Unai Basurko, who are in a tight race for third place.For more Velux 5 Oceans news, click here.
