Celina Burlin became the first woman ever to stand atop a Red Bull Foiling Generation podium on August 9, as she and her teammate Oscar Bengtson bested the best of Sweden’s young sailors in Malmö. The race marked the midpoint of the global regatta series for 2015, which will qualify seven national winners to join next season’s victors for the climax of the 2016 World Final.
Open to ambitious sailors aged 16–20, the global competition will give wings to promising talent in seven events in as many countries – Japan, UK, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Russia and France – with the winners of these national competitions going on to battle it out in the world final in late 2016.
